RELIGION

Separation of church and state has been taken to the extreme. I believe that when the Constitution was written, the Founding Fathers wanted religion to be determined by each individual rather than the government telling people what they have to believe. Now people read "separation of church and state" to mean "the state can have no references to religion and no one can practice religion in a public place."
I wonder why people get up-set when a state mandates a 1 minute reflection time at the beginning of each school day. The reflection time gives the students who want to pray a chance to pray. It also allows the students who want to think about the school day that they are about to face a chance to get mentally ready.
When I was in high school I was a part of a prayer group. We would meet before school on our own time and talk about our faith and the things that we were going to face through out the week. Then would make a list of things to pray about and pray. We were allowed to use the career center for two years. Then one day we were told that someone did not like us praying there so were no longer allowed to use that room. We had to meet in a secluded part of the hallway. Even there it was loud and hard to talk.
If a Judge in a court room wants to have the 10 Commandments posted they should be able to do that. Laws are based on the 10 Commandments.
